Mike is a licensed and board certified acupuncturist as well as a board certified herbalist. He is a fertility specialist at The Berkley Center for Reproductive Wellness in the Midtown East neighborhood of Manhattan, New York.
Infertility can be a daunting journey for couples longing to start a family, which is a reality Mike faced with his wife. Elective ultrasounds are non-medical and often performed for bonding or gender reveal purposes. Diagnostic ultrasounds are medically indicated and help assess fetal development, fertility, or other health conditions.
At 1 week, it is generally too early for an ultrasound to detect pregnancy. Most ultrasounds cannot confirm a pregnancy until at least 4–5 weeks gestation, when the gestational sac may become visible.
