Egg, Lining, and Sperm Quality Improvement
Traditionally, reproductive medicine has often maintained that aging and declining egg quality, declining endometrial lining, and declining sperm quality is irreversible.
Yet research into the effectiveness of Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) or Red Light Therapy for fertility enhancement shows that it is possible to improve egg quality, some endometrial lining issues, and sperm quality.
In fact, several fertility clinics in North America, Europe (most notably in Denmark and Norway) and in other countries around the world, report consistently high percentages of successful fertilization in patients when combining LLLT (low level light therapy), with Assisted Reproductive Therapy (ART)
Laboratory studies have repeatedly shown the effectiveness of Low Level Light Therapy (also known as Red Light Therapy), for fertility-improvement due to enhanced mitochondrial activity and ATP production, increased blood flow and the reduction of oxidative damage.
These actions have been shown in studies to significantly improve egg, lining, and sperm quality, thus improving your chances of getting and staying pregnant.
What does Low Level Light Therapy Do?
Low Level Light therapy is proven to be effective in improving fertility-outcomes since it enhances mitochondrial production, and ATP production. This can be the difference between poor egg, lining, and sperm quality, or really good quality.
An average cell contains around 2,000 mitochondria, whereas the oocyte (the human egg cell) has 600,000 mitochondria. Poor egg, lining, and sperm quality typically reflect reduced ATP (energy) function.
Old age = low ATP. Youth, vitality, fertility = high amounts of cellular ATP.
Application of Low Level Light therapy increases the production of cellular energy (ATP) in the mitochondria, which in turn improves the egg, lining, and sperm-cell’s ability to develop, mature and properly migrate.
Who can receive treatment
Younger women do not respond as well to photo biomodulation therapy for fertility, as well as those women 35 years-of-age and older.
The optimum age for promoting fertilization via LLLT is for women in the mature age group of 35-47, because reproductive cells are more likely to lack cellular energy from the aging process.
Any man with low count, poor morphology, low motility, and/or sperm DNA fragmentation can benefit from this therapy.
LLLT is recommended to improve the following conditions:
- Poor egg quality
- Multiple implantation failure
- Thin endometrium
- Poor sperm quality
Recommended courses of treatments
For women, Low Level Light treatment for fertility-enhancement is recommended during the lead up to a ovulation, regardless of whether ovulation is to be achieved naturally or via medication.
You’ll receive three treatments per week starting on day 1-3 of your menses and continue for an additional three times per week right up to ovulation. If success is not achieved, then another course, or even two more courses of treatment may be necessary.
Men receive therapy three times per week for two weeks, or more if necessary.
A course of 6 treatments is $1,200.
A course of 12 treatments is $2000.00
