Discovering endometriosis

I had a new patient recently who, during my intake, revealed that she had severe ovulation pain and several UTI's per year. Her case has been diagnosed as "unknown cause" by her reproductive endocrinologist. I realized that IC can mimic a UTI. When combining the complaints of severe ovulatory pain with what I think MAY BE IC, I sent her to an endometriosis specialist to diagnose. Sure enough she does indeed have stage 3 endometriosis. Her chances of conceiving and carrying full-term are now significantly amplified. Diagnosis is the key to ALL good medicine.
